WHAT IS ACCREDITATION?
Accreditation means that New Era Academy is recognised as an Awarding
Organisation by
the following Regulatory Authorities:
Ofqual
The Office of Qualifications and Examinations
Regulation (England)
Formerly the QCA
CCEA
The Council for Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment
(Northern Ireland)
DCELLS
The Department for Children, Education, Lifelong Learning and
Skills (Wales)
Formerly the ACCAC
HOW DOES ACCREDITATION EFFECT NEW ERA’S TEACHERS, STUDENTS
AND EXAMINERS?
In general terms New Era’s accreditation will ultimately benefit everyone. It
ensures that New Era is managed and run professionally and efficiently. It also
ensures that all the possible needs of Teachers and Students are met within
reason.
The accreditation process has enabled New Era to develop and update its systems
and organisation, and also the examinations it offers whilst retaining its
special ethos and philosophy.
It means that New Era offers a challenging and comprehensive syllabus covering a
varied range of performing disciplines, with a new grade structure. This new
grade structure is in line with National Qualification Framework and is a
mandatory requirement for accreditation.
The structure of our new attainment levels is also laid down by the National
Qualification Framework and is a mandatory requirement for accreditation.
However, the marking bands remain the same.
Entry Level examinations are not accredited so reports and marks are given on
the day of the examination.
All Grades from Foundation Level to Diploma Level are being submitted for accreditation and therefore
the examiner’s written report and mark allocation will be moderated by the Chief
Examiner and processed by the Office prior to the result being given. Results,
certificates, medals and diplomas will be issued within 3 weeks of the
examination.
