Recital - Level 3 - Advanced
Learning Outcomes
Learners should:
- present a programme of a standard suitable for public performance
- demonstrate a depth of study through their choice of material
- present a programme that is interesting, stimulating and expressive
- perform work that is of high quality both technically and artistically
- present a well balanced programme with contrasting moods and styles
- demonstrate an ability to capture the interest of the audience throughout the programme
- present an introduction and linking material demonstrating the personality of the speaker
Marks awarded at this level:
Voice Production and Speech: 20 marks
Movement and Physicality: 20 marks
Performance: 50 marks
Choice of Programme: 5 marks
Audience Engagement: 5 marks
Grade 6 Bronze Medal (20 Minutes)
This examination is open to learners of 14 years and over.
Learners should present in the form of a continuous recital:
- A poem
- An acted monologue from a published play
- An extract of memorised prose
- A mime or a devised scene on the chosen theme. Time limit for programme 15 minutes
Grade 7 Silver Medal (25 Minutes)
This examination is open to learners of 15 years and over.
Learners should present in the form of a continuous recital:
- A poem
- An acted monologue from a published play
- An extract of memorised prose
- A mime or a devised scene on the chosen theme. Time limit for programme 20 minutes
Grade 8 Gold Medal (30 Minutes)
This examination is open to learners of 16 years and over.
Learners should present in the form of a continuous recital:
- A poem
- An acted monologue from a published play
- An extract of memorised prose
- A mime or a devised scene on the chosen theme
- To read aloud a contrasting poem or a contrasting piece of prose. Time limit for programme 25 minutes
