DERREN NESBITT
Derren is an actor, director and businessman, he was born in London and trained at RADA. He has been described as a rather intriguing actor and also as big, compelling and charismatic! He has an endless list of credits in both television and film. He is well remembered for his
strong, intelligent performances in the WW1 aviation spectacle “The Blue Max”
(1966), as a cold war agent pursuing Frank Sinatra in “The Naked Runner” (1967)
and probably his best remembered role, as Major Von Hapen, an ice cold SS
officer nearly foiling Clint Eastwood and Richard Burton’s plans in “Where
Eagles Dare” (1968). His television work has included playing Detective Chief Inspector Jordan in the long running series of “Special Branch”, with many appearances in other series such as “ The Adventures of William Tell” and playing “Tegana” in “Dr Who”, also as Judge Arnold Francis Channel 4’s “The Court Room”. He more recently made a guest appearance in “Hollyoaks”. He has recently finished touring as the Inspector in “The Unexpected Guest”. His many fans are keenly awaiting the UK release of the film “Flawless” in which he stars with Michael Caine and Demi Moore. He is due to go on tour again shortly with the comedy “Don’t Ask Jeeves”. He has also been involved in teaching students from a range of backgrounds, abilities and ages and he also set up the Drama Department at Southern Cross University in Australia which he led and ran for 10 years.
