You will hear from Miranda Jacobs, Director of Examinations, and Tina Doyle, Chief Examiner for New Era Academy, who will present the key changes that have been made to the new syllabus and answer any questions that you may have.

The new 2023-2026 Syllabus will be examined from 1st September 2023, so Teachers and Students are able to start using the new syllabus after the launch date in preparation for exams in the new UK academic year.
The current 2020-2023 syllabus will remain in effect for examinations until 31st December 2023, to allow for anyone working towards higher grades on the current syllabus to complete their exam.
New Era Academy is one of the leading regulated examination boards in the UK and NI, offering students a graded assessment framework in Communications and Performance streams covering over 15 different disciplines. Our detailed and diverse syllabus-based examination framework supports students to learn and develop skills and express their creativity from four (4) introductory levels and through to Grades 1 to 8, as well as teaching diplomas.
The NEA syllabus is a real strength to our success and reputation as a high-quality, progressive awarding body and regulated examination board. We proactively review the syllabus every three (3) years to ensure we are providing an excellent framework and diversity of scope, topical content and range of authors and materials.
We offer a range of performance formats – Solo, Duologue, and Groups, and our syllabus caters to students of all ages and abilities with our regulated and some unregulated examinations. The key difference at New Era Academy is that our Examiners assess and provide individualised critique, marks, and feedback for individuals in performance groups of up to 4 participants. Our Group performances for 5 or more participants receive a single mark for the Group. We pride ourselves on providing a personalised and highly engaging experience for every learner participating in our exams.
We encourage learners with special educational needs to also participate in our syllabus, as we will adjust the examination criteria to suit the individuals’ special needs and provide an unregulated examination with individual feedback and a certificate.
In this next iteration of our broad-ranging syllabus, we will be expanding some of the discipline formats as well as making additions to our Diploma Units.
